In just the first few days, we have already had 80 donations made to our Snap Raise fundraising campaign.
Snap Raise | Donation Drive
Our Mira Mesa musicians are running a February Donation Drive via Snap Raise. If you are able, please consider supporting our campaign so we can continue to offer all our students consistent access to quality resources and educational events. Thank you! ![]() New Course for 2017-18! Last year, musicians in our Mira Mesa High School Orchestras were the first in the San Diego Unified School District to earn an Orchestra 5,6 credit. As the result of a successful pilot, we have been provided the opportunity to offer an additional course. This year, our fourth year seniors in both our Concert Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra will have the ability to earn an Orchestra 7,8 credit. Again, they will lead the way and be the first students in the district to earn this credit. We have already begun the process of identifying the eligible students and are working with our counseling department to make the necessary changes on behalf of our students. Many thanks are due to the district's Visual and Performing Arts Department (SDUSD VAPA), and specifically, Ms. Williams, who helped make this possible! Welcome Back! 2018 is here, and with it, a number of opportunities for our students, including performances, festivals, honor orchestra, banquet, and more! Please do stay tuned for more information! Unfinished Business
Until then, please review the Final Exam (Semester I, 2017-18). Remember, additional resources for our musicians are always available on our Musician's Only page. Curious as to how performances are assessed? Feel free to review the rubrics below. Please do use the resources available to you to aid in your preparation. Remember, all performance assessments are used as a tool to help us provide meaningful feedback and more direct/on-target instruction.
Winter Break
We hope that all of our Mira Mesa Orchestra musicians enjoy a well deserved break. Certainly, we ask that you work hard while school is in session - so please do take some time and enjoy yourselves!
Thank You
Thanks again to all of our friends and families who came out and supported our musicians at our two recent Winter Orchestra Concerts. Programs from both evenings have been included below. ![]()

ICYMI | Mira Mesa & the New World Symphony
In case you missed it, our Mira Mesa Orchestras were present (modestly) in the recent Annual Report which was put out by the New World Symphony. Take a look below!
Updates to Our Website
There have been a number of recent updates to our site. Specifically, we have begun turning over the Musician's Only page to include music and information for our spring performance.
Students, please do take a look at the updated content, including a few new Spotify lists (sampled below). The intonation drones have also been put on our homepage, in the right hand column (desktop only).
When we return in January 2018, we would love to get right back into the swing of things. Until then, enjoy your break! |
